It was sort of obvious that Simon was Lucy’s son and halfway through the story I started thinking, “If The Mage is the ‘villain’ in this story I’ll be really disappointed.” I found the whole The Mage being evil thing a bit cliché and obvious. The quality and number of queer content books has increased exponentially over the past decade. The only part which set me off (besides the spells) was The Mage and Lucy’s story. For these last few days, these characters were all my friends and I’m really not ready to let them go.😭 I will probably reread this book in the near future. Lastly, I will really miss these characters. Though, I did require a special mood to pick this book up (finally) I was sick while reading this book so I wanted something which didn’t require a lot of brain work where you had to remember a lot of things which I got from this book. If you and I have the same taste in books then you might like this one. I really wish I was feeling better while I read this book so I could have made notes but rest assured, this book will get a giggle out of you I’ve lost track of the amount of times I’ve laughed out loud while reading this book.

Honestly, when I started this book I was like, “oh, here we go again.” Every book has their moments when you feel like the story is dragging but to be frank, I didn’t feel like that while reading Carry On at all. …I’m sort of guilty of being those kind of people who love reading about food. Other than that, since these characters are teenagers, their thought process, way of speaking, etc are also relatable. How many times have you just begged with every fibre of your being to just get away? Rainbow Rowell is someone you might call an expert when it comes to mushy romances.Īgatha might have been one of the least favoured characters but she’s pretty relatable.

So if you’re one of those who spend endless hours on wattpad writing fan fiction and haven’t read Fangirl or Carry On.why haven’t you read them yet? On the other hand, other people are really happy to be back in the world of magic. Some people are angry and think it shouldn’t have been published. Honestly from what I’ve seen, there’s a lot of controversy about this. Another story about kicking butt with friends.īy this time if you’re not bored of golden trios and best friends from Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, etc. You just don’t have to read endless descriptions about the world.Ģ. So if you’re new to fantasy and just want a dang book you can relate to without all the boring introduction, this is the book for you! All the world building and descriptions are mentioned in the passing so you’re not going ‘what the hell is happening’ while reading this book. No boring 300 page long introduction to the world. * cringe* I can’t blame you though: the spell not to talk about Watford being ‘Ix-nay on the atford-Way’.I really can’t blame you (this isn’t even the worst one!)ġ. I read Fangirl before Carry On too and from someone with experience I can say that Fangirl didn’t do Carry On justice. The excerpts from Fangirl which you might have found boring. Reasons that might be holding you back from reading this book:ġ. You do not have to read Fangirl to read Carry On If you guys didn’t know, Carry On is the fan fiction written by Cath from Fangirl of a fictional world within that book. You can find the synopsis and add it on Goodreads here So here’s my attempt to persuade you to read (or not read) hyped books! Hyped books are sometimes the hardest to pick up and more times than not, they tend to make their way into our hearts. From now on, I will start doing ‘Why You Should/Shouldn’t Read This Book’ (obviously depending on my rating) posts for hyped books. So I know I should do a review of this book-I mean, so many people love it, right? But that also means a lot of people have reviewed it as well.which gave me an idea.
